Larry's Running Blog

A rambling commentary on my running and a log of what I've been up to with my training. It, hopefully, will show my progress and improvements towards my running goals and enjoyment of keeping myself fit and healthy.

Thanks OSN and Sluggie. It has given me something to think about, why I want to do this marathon. Its really because its such a nice course though I think I will be satisfied if I do the shorter one instead considering the problems I've had lately.
The one I really wanted to do was the Neolithic which was today. That was a goal for me to work for and somewhere that I really wanted to run as what could be better - to prove myself over a tough marathon course in the presence of ancient monuments that I look at as part of my culture and beliefs.
But - I am not going to keep being so down about it. I am HappyasLarry and always an optimist. This leg will get better, I will get to run longer again soon, I will do the Neolithic next year.
I would like to be able to do lots of marathons as I like to push myself hard so that I can feel that sense of achievement that comes with the effort of attaining something very difficult.
I love doing the long runs, the feeling of being at one with the surroundings, the feeling of having exhausted my energy and that afterglow that keeps me smiling for the rest of the day.
I won't give up or be despondent.
Its only a blip.
