Larry's Running Blog

A rambling commentary on my running and a log of what I've been up to with my training. It, hopefully, will show my progress and improvements towards my running goals and enjoyment of keeping myself fit and healthy.

Good news, I seem to have twisted a ligament at the side of the knee which is tightening and causing the knee cap to go off centre and that's why it hurts. Its good news because it should settle down fairly soon with ice, stretches and the possibility of a little rest but he did say I could run if I felt like it, no damage is being done. However, I will rest it for a couple of days as I have the bike to x train on and I could always go for a swim, haven't done that for a while.
Hence, I have decided there will be no club running for me this week as they were going to do a hilly 8 miles.Hopefully I will be ok for a longish run at the weekend instead.

Larry, I'm pleased for you that your injury is fixable without too much hassle.

But I'm afraid it's time for another telling off (it's for your own good). Have you forgotten that you've just run a 1/2 mara race & PB'd it too? I know it's been a while since I've raced but doesn't it take time for your body to recover & repair after a race?

Give yourself a chance to repair/recover and also let the injury settle down. If you must run @the weekend a short plod would be enough.

I'm trying to practice what I preach. I'm a bit tired still after going too hard at the weekend. There's 2 more runs on my schedule I'm supposed to do this week before an attempted 10K PB this coming Sunday. I won't be doing them, really!

I hope you won't be offended. I'm just trying to be objective and honest with you.
